ya / Hello
I'm Stevie, a pakana Photographer and Videographer based in lutruwita/Tasmania, living in kanamaluka/Launceston.I love what I do, the images I take, creating, curating & collaborating. My visual style (I find) is both impactful and discreet. As I mainly work large event, I lean heavily into candid and documentarian style. Often my clients will not notice me capturing the key moments, staying out of the mix with minimal posing & group photos unless prompted or requested in a brief.Previously working as a Graphic Designer & Animator, I also have a vast amount of neurons dedicated to remembering how to design brands & keeping a brand consistent. While I don’t take on design work these days I will happily discuss where we can take a photo or video project to keep things within the realm of your brand.I am open to work all across Australia, currently working towards taking more creative narrative projects. Both artistic performance documentation & brand advertising work at scale.

Self Portrait - 2025
ya pulingina,
(Hello, welcome) You've made it to the art gallery. When I'm not busy with camerawork, I allocate time to my art practice. This space is my expression into this once in a lifetime thing we're all experiencing, glad you could make it.
Artist Statement
In the mess, I find something for myself, raw and real, a kind of comfort in the discomfort. Each pixel, is a confession, a wound, a patchwork of broken parts trying to find their way back together. Art doesn’t promise perfection; it promises resolve, a space where the fight for repair is not just seen, but felt. In the act of creation, I’m finding myself, piece by piece.

Process
I usually take unsuspecting images from my photography trips and manipulate them through multiple means and multiple programs to achieve any given look. I gravitate towards discovery of abstract faces and dark backgrounds. Given the chance, I also take my work through physical experimentation.
